Neurosurgery

Dept. of Neurosurgery, Yamanashi University is the medical center of the highest level in the surrounding area, and focuses on academics, clinical research, patient care and operation. We have three main divisions: stroke, brain tumor and spine disease group. Microsurgery, neuroendocopy, navigation based surgery, awake surgery, intravascular surgery have been performed, and moreover, 3 tesla intraoperative MRI and hybrid surgical equipment were recently provided. We also focus on basic research such as the mechanism of ischemic tolerance of neuron, neuronal regeneration, glioma migration and tumor-immunology of malignant glioma.
