I. Clinical Works: 1. Operations (General anesthesia: approximately 4,600 cases per year, Local anesthesia: approximately 1,100 cases per year), 2. Pain clinic: 1) Four days per week, 2) Nerve block, Accupuncture, Kampo, Local blocks,3, Palliative medicine: 1) Acute pain service (APS), 2) Perioperative pain relief, 3) Pain relief for both cancer and non-cancer pain, 4) Special 6 rooms for palliative care in our University Hospita. II. Educational Works: 1. Instructive lectures for freshpersons of Faculty of Medicine, 2. Tutorial lectures and Examinations, 3. BSL (bed-side-learning) for Medical students of 5 years, 4. Selective semi-clinical clerkship for Medical students of 6 years. III. Research Works: 1. Heart cell metabolism (rats): Langendorff Method: 1) LVP (LV dP/dt max, 2) Cytokines, 3) Superoxide (DHBA), 4) Ca in myocites (Fura-2/AM loading), 2. Cerebral circulation: 1) Cranial windows (rabbits), 2) Cerebral infarction model (mice). 3. Thermoregulation: 1) Anesthetics and temperature, 2) Effects of drugs on the shivering thresholds, 3) Glucose and thermoregulation.
