医学専攻

理念・目的

医学・医療の分野に関する優れた研究能力と高度な専門的知識を身に付け、臨床あるいは研究の場において、創薬・医療技術開発、医療関連事業、公共健康政策の推進に貢献できるような、問題意識の高い自立した人材の養成を目指します。

学位授与方針（ディプロマポリシー）

本専攻に在籍する学生は、医学全般に対する深い学識とともに、高い専門性・情報収集能力により独自に研究課題を設定し、倫理観と深い洞察力をもって研究を推進する能力を身につけることが求められます。その上で、所定の期間在学し、修了に必要な履修単位を修得し、一定レベルの学術的成果をあげて博士論文審査及び最終試験に合格した学生は、本専攻の教育目標を達成した者と認め、博士（医学）の学位を授与します。

教育課程編成・実施方針（カリキュラムポリシー）

研究を進める上で重要な生命倫理、科学者倫理の科目、情報収集・処理能力を磨くための医療データ解析・臨床疫学を必修科目に設定しています。また，高度な専門性は専門科目で、医学全般に対する学識は医科学科目で身につけます。創薬・医療技術開発や医療関連事業につながるトランスレーショナルリサーチ関連の科目も用意しました。入学者は基礎・臨床医学の幅広い知識を身につけることが基本ですが、本人の主体的な学習計画により、基礎系あるいは臨床系の科目のいずれかに重点を置いた履修も可能です。特に重要なトピックについては、基礎系教員と臨床系教員が共同して教員を担当する授業科目を設定しました。この他、講義の夜間開講や長期履修制度等により、社会人学生の修学を支援しています。

学生の学修成果は、シラバスに明記された評価方法及び評価基準に基づいて、授業の到達目標への到達度により評価します。
<評価方法>
学位論文については、厳格で透明な論文審査を行い、修了判定はディプロマポリシーによる総合評価とします。

試験区分別の入学者選抜の基本方針

上記の<求める能力・人物像>で示す能力等を有する人を評価するため、以下の方法により選抜します。
<一般選抜>
筆記試験（英語）、口述試験、出身大学大学院等の成績証明書の審査結果を総合して判定し、合格者を決定します。

Doctor’s Course

Medicine

Philosophy/Goal

The Department of Medicine aims to nurture independent individuals who have outstanding research capabilities and high-level expertise in medical fields such as medicine and medical care; can contribute to developing medicines and medical technology, promoting medical projects and public health policy in clinical and research fields; are fully aware of important issues.

Diploma Policy

Students in this department are required to acquire profound learning about medical science at large and to learn a wide range of skills that promote selecting an original research topic of their specialty/concentration while also showing good information gathering, deep insight, and a good code of ethics. Furthermore, the Department of Medicine gives recognitions as the ones who have achieved an education goal in the department and confers Doctoral Degrees in Medicine to individuals who have enrolled at their school/university for a specified period of time; successfully earned all credits required for graduation, and achieved the necessary requirements/grades to graduate; passed both the thesis and the final examination.

Curriculum Policy

The Department of Medicine defines those classes as mandatory; Bioethics and “Ethics for Scientists” that are essential to promote researching, and “Medical Data Analysis” and “Clinical Epidemiology” in order to cultivate abilities of gathering and handling information. We prepare specialized courses in order to enable students to acquire a high degree of specialization. Students can learn general intelligence for medical science through courses of medical science. We have established courses related to translational research that are connected to developing medicines and medical technology, promoting medical projects. Naturally, students will be enrolled to develop a broad range of knowledge regarding both basic medical science and clinical science, however, students are given the choice to expand that knowledge and choose either to learn basic medical science courses or clinical courses. For the specialty courses, both teachers in basic and clinical courses are in charge. Also, we encourage adult learners to study and provide evening courses and a long-term registration system.

The academic results acquired by students will be evaluated by students’ achievement in each class based on the evaluation method and the evaluation standards stated in the syllabus.

Regarding graduation thesis, it’s strictly and transparently reviewed and evaluated. Completion judgements are conducted as a comprehensive evaluation as stated in Diploma Policy.

We seek individuals who have a keen interest in medicine, high ethical standards, and the ability to reason and explain and who are eager to contribute to present and future generations by independently advancing research from their own unique perspectives.

Basic Policy for Admission Selection by examination category

The following selection method will be used to evaluate applicants who have abilities, etc. Listed in the above 〈Abilities and personality required〉.

Successful applicants will be chosen based on the total assessment of the results of written examination (English), an oral examination and a review of their academic transcript of graduating school.
